Alpe Adria Cup and some Championships
Last weekend, the more or less traditional Alpe-Adria-Orienteering Cup was organised in Arnoldstein, Austria, consisting of a Middle and Long distance, and a Relay. Long and Relay were also Austrian Championships. All three competitions were hold in an exciting terrain, offering a lot of contours and plenty of stones. In the middle and relay the runability was mostly very good, but for the long distance the course setters kept the most challenging terrain.
In the middle distance, I tried to get a good feeling for the terrain, which worked out very well. In the long distance, nobody finished without mistakes. Although my race was also far from perfect, I was happy that I defended my title. In the relay, our team was clearly in the favorite role, but we were defeated clearly by the "Henndorf guys". If everything followed paper rules, we wouldn't have to compete, but that's sport ;)
For the first time ever, my club's region, Burgenland, was winning the Alpe-Adria-Cup, consisting of the M/W-18, M/W 21- and M/W 35- results. Picture from the AAC price giving
Anyway, I can look back to a successful with three good performances in a challenging terrain. I hope I can say the same after Saturdays' competition, Swedish Ultralong Championships. I'm sure it will be a tough fight.
